IMAGES AND COSTUMES
The story and the characters are a phantasmagoria. And in that phantasmagoria, we create an eclectic mix of characters.
The inhabitants of the gated community of Water. Their symbols and materials-fishing net, wood, bagging, fish, scales. It is quite likely that with all the minimalism and asceticism, the image of the inhabitants of the community still combines some avant-garde, or at least unusual elements, which distinguishes them from ordinary villagers in the known reality. It is necessary to develop patterns and symbols in clothing and accessories that define the belonging of a given settlement not to some nationality, but precisely to a fantastic religious community. In addition to everyday clothing, there is festive clothing - when all the inhabitants gather in the temple on special holidays. Presumably, for their masses they wear something like cassocks, translucent or capes resembling fish scales. Some ritual accessories complete their festive image.
The image of the Chief Priest of the Water Temple: he should certainly stand out from the rest. But at the same time I want to avoid the templateness of the image of the priest and direct allusions to specific images known to us in reality. It should be an unusual Priest of the Water God from another reality. His image should represent the power of the Sea and the fear of the Sea. His robe should flow like water, perhaps the hems and sleeves are unrealistically long and flow several meters across the floor. At the same time there should be something formidable - terrifying, a cassock with the symbol of the skeleton and skull of some mythical sea monster. Priest-Kosche.
Image of the Water Girl: there should be something in her image and costume elements that sets her apart from the rest, as well as hints at the duality of her nature.
Images of wanderers, priests of Fire: absolute opposite in images, texture and colors (water-fire). If the representatives of the Water community are very conservative and strict, their clothes cover the whole body, the followers of Fire, on the contrary, expose the torso, legs and shoulders. Their image is reminiscent of the Egyptian priests of the Sun god, but there should be no direct copying of ancient Egyptian images, only allusion, elements, general feeling. Moreover, it is supposed to be combined with some Hindu elements. Again, they are supposed to have their own symbolism, and again, the imagery is more avant-garde (eclectic) than archaic. Their clothing wears a somewhat shabby look from the road, and generally combines modern clothing elements (e.g., like some of the costume elements from David Bowie's "Hearts Filthy Lesson" music video - shabby jeans. Rough boots, tattered sweatshirts). They must wear special ritual robes during the ritual. The image of the Fire Priest should also stand out as a personification of the power of Fire (the Sun).
